Listen to Dntel Dumbluck Online
March 9th, 2007
Subpop has put Dntel’s new Dumbluck single online. Listen to it now!!
Dumbluck is the first song on Dntel’s new album, also titled Dumbluck. I previously covered Jimmy Tamborello’s Dumbluck.
As for the single that is available online, I think it’s pretty good. Honestly, I hated the first 40 seconds or so, and I had to force myself to listen to it. I wasn’t impressed with the sound, and I even restarted it right away because I thought I was having streaming problems, because no way could someone want that intro.
But as I finished listening to Dumbluck, it definitely grew on me, and I started to enjoy it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the CD. So kudos to Jimmy. Jimbo. The Jimster…keep it up.
Subpop Ringtones!
January 6th, 2007
A few days ago Subpop Records announced that they’d start selling a few ringtones from their artists. The current ringtones available are as follow:
- The Shins - Phantom Limb, Caring is Creepy, and New Slang
- Postal Service - (specific ringtone not listed on site)
- CSS - Alala
- David Cross - Fake tits/Real beer
- Hot Hot Heat - Bandages, No, Not Now, and Talk to Me, Dance with Me
- Sleater-Kinney - Jumpers
To purchase one of the ringtones, just text “Sub Pop” to 73804. I’d like to try out the service to get a Postal Service ringtone, but I’m not sure if my piece of shit Audiovox can handle it. If I try it out I’ll keep you updated.
Free Thom Yorke Remixes
December 11th, 2006
His first remix is “The Clock” remixed by The Surgeon (pictured below)
His other offering is “Analyse” remixed by Various
It’s a very unselfish thing to do, to give out free songs. But really, I know where he’s going with this. He’s playing the “nice guy” card to get good press, so he will win his Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album with Eraser…(Oh please…you know I’m just kidding)
But Thom is a nice guy, and a great artist. Check out the FREE remixes and pick up a copy of the Eraser.
