Apple iPhone finally announced
January 9th, 2007
Steve Jobbs of Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone at its famed Macworld Tuesday.
The iPhone will come in 4GB and 8GB models for a very steep price: $500 and $600 respectively. It will almost be worth the price though, for non-thrifty tech enthusiasts anyways. The device will run the standard Apple operating system OSX, therefore, allowing it to pretty much have the capabilities of a standard computer. It also contains a 2 mega pixel camera, Wi-Fi internet support, and an attractive standard QWERTY virtual keyboard.
As expected, the iPhone is targeting non-music capable smart phones like the infamous Blackaberry and Treo. This phone could kick some major ass on competitors since its target audience has the money, loves Apple’s ease of use and features, and (I’m assuming) probably likes music.
If I was going to get a Smartphone, I’d definitely look at an iPhone because of its music capabilities. However, I wouldn’t shell out the big bucks right away since there will undoubtedly be problems when it is
finally released in June 2007. So if I win the lottery before the second generation smartphones come out, I’ll give you a review on them.

Technology is bringing digital downloads to the top of the music business. This new phone from Applie is a great example of that. We run a mp3 digital download store for independent musicians and would like to see Apple come up with a product that plays mp3's without having to go to itunes to change the format of the file to upload it to your ipod.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Bradley Gailey
